About this Nominee
Ridgeside K9 Eastern Carolina is a local team of professional dog trainers who believe training should make life better for both ends of the leash.
The dogs we work with become part of our everyday lives. We learn their quirks, what makes them nervous, what motivates them, what gets them into trouble and what makes their families love them so much in the first place.
We work with everything from puppies learning how to navigate the world to dogs struggling with reactivity, fear and aggression. Some families come to us wanting better manners. Others come to us exhausted, frustrated and wondering if they can even keep their dog.
Those are the dogs and families we fight especially hard for.
But Ridgeside has never just been about the dogs that come through our doors.
We believe dog training should be part of the community. That’s why we host free events open to ALL dog owners, not just Ridgeside clients. Glow Walks, pack walks, pop-up training and Q&As, community meetups and other events give people a place to bring their dogs, work around real-world distractions, ask questions, meet other dog owners and simply get out and enjoy their dogs.
We support local rescues, shelters and charities, partner with other local small businesses, and look for ways to use what we do to give back to the community that supports us.
For our clients, graduation isn't goodbye. Our support is for the life of the dog. Six months from now, two years from now, if you need us, call us. And if everything is going great, come find us at a community event or vendor market because we genuinely love seeing our dogs and families again.
We laugh at these dogs. We worry about them. We celebrate the tiny wins that nobody else would understand. We celebrate the huge ones. And yes, we get attached.
